Flowers: June, July, August
Position: Full sun
Harvest: Pick flowers and leaves as required throughout summer.
Propagation: Self-seeds freely if the flowers are not harvested. Deadhead faded flowers if seedlings are not required
Aftercare: Requires little aftercare, and only occasional watering. Prune back hard to rejuvenate the leaves after flowering
Reputed medicinal properties: Feverfew is best known for treating of migraine headaches, nausea and vomiting. Use up to 150 mg of dried leaves per day.
Do not use if:
- You are allergic to any of the Asteraceae family (aster, chamomile, chrysanthemum, ragwort, sunflower, tansy, and yarrow).
- You have a blood-clotting disorders, or are taking a blood clotting drug such as wafarin.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
